It's been another long week here at GFY HQ, what with the Oscars, and blogging about the Oscars, and then complaining about how boring the Oscars were... but, at long last, TGIF. Which around these parts stands for Thank George It's Friday. What better way to end the week than to borrow again, with respect, a gimmick from The Daily Show and sign off for the day with something that brings us inner peace. After a random conversation with a friend about Reba McEntyre songs, it came to my attention that she'd never been exposed to the sheer brilliance that is the video for that old duet, "Does He Love You?" I remember seeing this when the song came out back in the 90s, and it plucked every soapy heartstring I have. Behold the glories of what Reba is wearing in the very first shot! Of the hat she so boldly wears in extreme close-ups in Act 2! Of the hugeness of her hair in Act Three! The total generic himbo they're fighting for, and all the associated top-notch acting! And that ending.
Williams ahead of his time
The Times-Herald will feature an inductee each day leading up to the March 8 Vallejo Sports Hall of Fame banquet. D.L. Hurd could talk about Richie Williams for a week. Williams, the 5-foot-9, 133-pound blur, was ambidextrous, the guy nobody wanted to play a game of H-O-R-S-E with, stepped up his game against the best competition, was the consummate teammate and, best of all, a great person. These are just a few things Hurd lists about the very close friend he still speaks with on a once-a-week basis. Williams - a Vallejo High and Vallejo Junior College star in the 1950s, and later a basketball player at Gonzaga and San Francisco State - is slated for induction with the fifth class of the Vallejo Sports Hall of Fame on March 8. "I just can't say enough about him," said Hurd, a former football player with the Baltimore Colts and a VSHOF member.
Pat McKee: High School Q&A
At our school, the fall sports have a nice glossy book that is handed out at the football games. That includes nice team pictures of all the fall sports (boys and girls). Same happens with basketball and the other winter sports. Nothing is done for spring and the kids who play baseball, softball, track, etc., never get there picture distributed to the community. They work just as hard but do not get the recognition that the fall and winter sports get. How can this be changed? (Garry from Indianapolis) Answer: Most fall sports programs and winter sports programs that schools produce are paid for -- and actually produce positive revenue -- for the schools' athletic departments by all the ads they contain. Generally, football and basketball teams have the kind of community support that allows for schools to use these books as a form of fund-raising for their athletic departments.

Hardware Wal-Mart to Give HD DVD the Boot, Sides With Blu-ray
I enjoy seeing the angry little fans I have rate me down. I know for a fact that a couple of them have rate down alt accounts and purposefully go through and rate down my stuff regardless.Regularly I have watched +5 posts end up at -1 once my little fanboys get done using their alts. It really thrills me to think that they get so excited over everything I say just to go to that trouble. .
