The One America Committee says it is "dedicated to helping elect Democratic candidates across the country." The most important Democrat seems to be Senator John Edwards. Remember him? Eight months after the 2004 Presidential election, Senator Edwards launched a video blog. While it is hard to imagine the Senator fiddling around with his computer late at night editing video (he has some professional help on this), it does maintain a grassroots, homemade feeling. Citizens (right now mostly video bloggers) can video tape a question and send it in. Then Sen. Edwards answers the question, also on video. The end result is a time-delayed conversation, or a really long town hall meeting. It is a great application of the vlog concept. And a good indicator that the Internet will continue to be a key tool in politics.
Sweet Golf Alabama - Part 1
This is steroidal-strength, monster-length golf playing to 8,191 yards from the back tees! 8,191 yards! The distance from some of the back tee boxes to the greens was so long, I was surprised there wasn't a Stucky's halfway there. This is a dramatic venue in which to play the ancient game, if only just to say you played on one of the most difficult courses in the world. The course is the third-longest track in the game. The idea of Ross Bridge was to create a golfing experience you won't soon forget to accompany the more standard fare of its golfing brethren on the Robert Trent Jones Trail. And what a unique golfing experience it is! In my worldwide golfing travels, I have to say I've never played anywhere quite like it. The first four holes make you wonder just what the heck is in store for you and your golf ball of choice.
Panasonic PV-GS320 camcorder
Another questionable design decision puts the FireWire and USB ports for transferring video to your Mac under the battery. You must remove the battery and plug your AC cables into the wall in order to transfer video. The PV-GS320 is also missing a headphone jack and external microphone input—this can be a deal breaker for serious video jockeys. The camcorder has an accessory shoe for self-powered lights and other accessories. The camcorder's menus were easy to navigate via the controls. However, they take up the whole 2.7-inch LCD screen, which makes it hard to preview changes to your settings without backing out of all of the menus. Performance The benefits of this design were quickly apparent in our testing, as our assembled panel of editors gave the video quality a Superior rating, both in low light and in normal shooting conditions.
