| Journalist? Blogger? Self-promo Strategist? You Decide on Josh Wolf ...
Journalism is a tough profession to crack legitimately. At no earlier time in media history have there been far more candidates than there are job openings as layoffs continue to plague an industry best defined as a sinking ship. So, why would one young man who calls himself a journalist sit in jail (coercive confinement) rather than try breaking into the profession legitimately? Anyone's guess. Josh Wolf has become "news," which used to be an unwritten 'no, no' by professional media standards. Once upon a time...a journalist was someone who gathered information, wrote on the topic of interest, and found his/her story with a byline in some future print edition. Today however, technology has changed what accounts for news, what defines rounded or objective journalism, and who is indeed a journalist.

Middle East premier of BRABUS ROCKET the world's fastest Sedan
Newly programmed engine electronics orchestrate the perfect interaction of all new components and contribute not only to maximum power yield but also to meeting the latest EURO IV emission limits. The BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo engine, also available for all current Mercedes-Benz 600 and 65 models with twin-turbo V12 engine, produces a maximum power output of 730 PS (720 hp) / 537 kW at 5,100 rpm. Peak torque is 1,320 Nm (974 lb-ft), but is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft), available from a low 2,100 rpm. The top speed of 365.7 km/h (227.2 mph), limited electronically for street-legal operation to 350 km/h (217 mph), is not the only attribute that elevates the BRABUS ROCKET to the very top of its segment. The four-door is also among the fastest accelerating cars in the world: 0 - 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds, 0 - 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.5 seconds, 0 - 300 km/h (186 mph) in 29.5 seconds are numbers as unique as this exclusive BRABUS automobile itself.
Dutch citizen journalism site to pay contributors by launching pay-per ...
Dutch citizen journalism site Skoeps is to introduce a pay-per-view system for its users, as part of plans to increase revenue for its contributors. The site already offers a daily reward of €250 for the best photo or video submitted to the site and gives contributors half the fee for any content sold to other media. It is hoped the new payment system, which will be implemented in the next two to three months, will encourage more contributors and increasing traffic to the site, Marcel Houtman, managing director of Skoeps International, told Journalism.co.uk. In smaller markets, such as Holland, payment to citizen journalists is essential to encourage them to participate, Houtman added. Skoep will cease spending on advertising this year and instead use the same sum to pay contributors.
Ting Tings release first single
The Ting Tings have released their much-anticipated debut single Great DJ. And the duo, who have been billed as a band to watch for 2008, have revealed their surprise at how much buzz has been surrounding their music. Speaking of their new release they said: "We hand-made all our singles so we did a limited copy with only a small amount going out. "It's quite shocking all this coverage we've been getting. Airplay and stuff has been amazing." Although the group are playing down the hype, they are hoping to drum up more support ahead of their album release in May. They said: "We try not to read too much of it because it can give you a really big head. So I think we've got to play shows all this year and show people what we do." .

This was my first time in Washington DC and while it was a little cold for my Californian bones, it was a beautiful city and seeing the capitol of the nation was certainly a worthwhile experience. One thing that struck me was how large and spread-out the Capitol was with so many Government buildings several miles apart. The panel was moderated by Scott Wallsten, VP for Research and Senior Fellow of iGrowthGlobal.

Spurs 2-1 Chelsea (aet)
Good afternoon all Duncan Castles wrote a good Carling Cup preview in today's Observer, which saves me a job. If you can't be bothered clicking on it, one of the more interesting extracts features Tottenham manager Juande Ramos saying that his side "are like Sevilla [his old club]. To have a trophy now would take a lot of pressure off the team so they can work more calmly with the aim of then fighting to be up there with the best teams - to be in the top four, to go for the Champions League, to win more trophies." .
